Class of 2008: Top 25 recruiters

LANCE THOMPSON, ALABAMA
BUZZ: Thompson was listed as the primary recruiter on these Alabama signees: athlete Mark Barron, defensive end Glenn Harbin, wide receiverDestin Hood, quarterback Star Jackson, wide receiver Julio Jones, defensive back Robert Lester, running back Ivan Matchett, running back Jermaine Preyear and athlete Burton Scott. Thompson was listed as the co-recruiter for linebacker Jerrell Harris. If you're counting at home, that's 10 commitments, with two five-star players, six four-star players and two three-star players. That's impressive work, especially in the Mobile, Ala., area.

Steve Addazio, Florida
BUZZ: Went out of state for Will Hill and Brendan Beal and landed Matt Patchan. Throw in three-star prospects Sam Robey and David Young.
Micheal Barrow, Miami
BUZZ: Was a big part of Miami's huge linebacker haul, landing Arthur Brown, Jordan Futch and Marcus Robinson. Also recruited defensive back C.J. Holton.
Jim Bollman, Ohio State
BUZZ: The main reason for Ohio State's great offensive line class. He recruited Mike Adams and Michael Brewster and certainly had a part in J.B. Shugarts.
Jim Bridge, NC State
BUZZ: Recruited four-star linebacker Terrell Manning and four-star offensive lineman R.J. Mattes, as well as linebacker Sterling Lucas, offensive lineman Andrew Wallace and Earl Wolff.
Corwin Brown, Notre Dame
BUZZ: Helped out in Illinois and made a big impact. Also helped lure away Jonas Gray from Nebraska. Brown became Notre Dame's closer for many prospects. He was involved with 11 recruits that signed with the Irish.
Brian Cabral, Colorado
BUZZ: Was primary on Jon Major and Lynn Katoa Shaun Mohler and assisted on Ray Polk and Ryan Deehan.
Tim Cross, Minnesota
BUZZ: Totaled eight commitments, led by defensive back Keanon Cooper and athletes Terrell Combs, D.L. Wilhite and Troy Stoudermire. Cross played a big part in Minnesota's surprising class.
Ryan Day, Boston College
BUZZ: BC landed three four-star players, and Day recruited all of them. He went into South Florida to pull away offensive lineman Mike Goodman and took running back Josh Haden and defensive back Okechuckwu Okoroha. All in all, Day helped bring in seven recruits.
Joe DeForest, Oklahoma State
BUZZ: Held onto athlete Kyle Staley and has defensive back Maurice Gray, defensive tackle Swanson Miller and running back Beau Johnson on his list. Had a hand in six signees for the Cowboys.
Dave Doeren, Wisconsin
BUZZ: Landed four commitments for Wisconsin, led by defensive tackle Eriks Briedis, defensive back Kevin Claxton and defensive end Anthony Mains. He was the go-to recruiter while at Kansas, meaning he had a hand in the Jayhawks' success last season.
Jon Fabris, Georgia
BUZZ: Started things off with wide receiver A.J. Green and added offensive guard A.J. Harmon late. In between, he was responsible for landing defensive end Cornelius Washington and defensive tackle DeAngelo Tyson. Fabris had a hand in five commitments overall.
Jimbo Fisher, Florida State
BUZZ: Won the battle for quarterback E.J. Manuel over many others and brought in tight end Jabaris Little, athlete Jarmon Fortson, running back Tavares Pressley and assisted on linebacker Nigel Bradham.
Eddie Gran, Auburn
BUZZ: While losing running back Enrique Davis was tough, Gran did his part by keeping five-star offensive lineman Jermaine Johnson and brought in speed with wide receiver Harry Adams and athlete Philip Pierre-Louis. Gran had a hand in seven commitments.
Josh Henson, LSU
BUZZ: Kept four kids home, led by tight end Matt Branch and defensive back Brandon Taylor. Henson also took linebacker Ryan Baker out of Florida. Henson was responsible for five commitments.
Tony Hughes, Southern Miss
BUZZ: Beat out LSU and many others for five-star wide receiver DeAndre Brown and landed offensive lineman Bo Tillman on Signing Day. Hughes was listed with 10 recruits with a 3.1-star average for a non-BCS school.
Clint Hurtt, Miami
BUZZ: Defensive tackle Marcus Forston is the headliner for the Miami class, and Hurtt kept him at home. Hurtt also signed Tommy Streeter on Signing Day and kept some poachers away from Jeremy Lewis late. Hurtt was involved with eight signees for Miami's impressive class.
Rob Ianello, Notre Dame
BUZZ: Ianello did well in the Midwest, pulling in five-star wide receiver Michael Floyd and Illinois prospects Steven Filer, Darius Fleming and Sean Cwynar. Also stole offensive lineman Trevor Robinson from Nebraska and Kapron Lewis-Moore from Texas A&M.
Bobby Kennedy, Texas
BUZZ: Once again one of the top guns for Texas, he signed wideouts Dan Buckner and D.J. Grant, as well as all-purpose back DeSean Hales and linebacker Emmanuel Acho.
Matt Lubick, Arizona State
BUZZ: Lubick was involved with 11 signees, including running back Ryan Bass, linebackers Shelly Lyons and Brandon Magee and offensive linemen Kyle Johnson and Tom Njunge.
Pat Ruel, USC
BUZZ: How's this for a list? Offensive linemen Matt Kalil, Matt Meyer, Tyron Smith and Khaled Holmes. For his finale, Ruel took cornerback T.J. Bryant right out of Florida State's backyard.
Charlie Strong, Florida
BUZZ: Went into Alabama and pulled out linebacker William Green, signed defensive back Jeremy Brown and linebacker Lerentee McCray and was the closer for most of the defensive prospects for Florida in this class.
Dabo Swinney, Clemson
BUZZ: Once again making the list, Swinney landed running back Jamie Harper and offensive lineman Antoine McClain on Signing Day. He helped sign quarterback Kyle Parker and linebacker Jonathan Willard. Swinney is listed with 10 recruits in Clemson's strong class.
DeWayne Walker, UCLA
BUZZ: Walker was a huge reason that this UCLA class stayed together. He recruited defensive backs E.J. Woods, Aaron Hester, Anthony Dye and Rahim Moore as well as athlete Jonathan Franklin and wide receiver Jerry Johnson.
Eric Wolford, Illinois
BUZZ: Wolford had a hand in seven commitments from four different states. Kept offensive lineman Graham Pocic at home, went into Ohio and got wide receiver Cordale Scott, linebacker Justin Staples and defensive end Whitney Mercilus. He also pulled offensive lineman Tyler Sands from Pennsylvania.
