SAN ANTONIO - Kicker is easily the least glamorous position at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, but Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Cardinal Gibbons kicker Blair Walsh is hoping he can find a way to change that.

Walsh is no doubt one of the top kickers in the country, and on Saturday he wants to get the opportunity to prove that.

"I'm just looking forward to getting some opportunities to kick and playing in the game," Walsh said. "It should be a great experience."

Walsh committed to Georgia in March and he continues to stand 100 percent behind his pledge to the Bulldogs.

"I picked Georgia because I went up there and visited and I loved everything about it," Walsh said. "I loved everything from the football environment, to the coaches to the academics-everything."

As for range, Walsh said he can hit from around 60 yards off the ground and this past season he hit two 59 yard field goals in different games.

Walsh also put 91 percent of his kicks through the end zone for touchbacks and he made 14-of-22 field goals. Most of his misses were from long range.

"Any opportunity I get in this game I'll be grateful for," Walsh said. "No matter what range, I'll make it and try my hardest.

"There's only a few of us that get to play in this game so I'm just happy to be here. I'm real excited and you just have to take advantage of this opportunity. I just want to soak up this entire opportunity."
