Bobby Burton National Analyst and Publisher
Nationally recognized as one of the foremost authorities on college football recruiting. Burton was ranked the 88th most powerful person in sports by The Sporting News in 2000 for his influence on college recruiting. Burton was the long-time editor-in-chief of the National Recruiting Advisor, a ground-breaking newsletter and magazine that focused on college football recruiting, before selling the publication to Rival Networks in April of 1999. He has written for ESPN.com, The Sporting News, FansOnly, FoxSports.com and the Dallas Morning News and has appeared on numerous television and radio shows nationwide. He serves as a consultant for the Parade All-America teams. Burton is also in charge of putting together the Rivals.com team of analysts and reporters, a group generally considered the best in the business.
Jeremy Crabtree National Analyst and Editor
Recently recognized by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and CBSportsline.com as one of the nation's foremost recruiting analysts, Crabtree began his career working as a high school sports writer for the Topeka Capital Journal and The Kansas City Star. He left The Star when hired by Burton to join The National Recruiting Advisor. Crabtree, who has established himself as one of the nationís best in the business in just seven years, can be heard on radio shows around the country, and his writing can be seen in print publications and newspapers nationwide. Crabtree is in charge of day-to-day operations of Rivals.com football recruiting.
Mike Farrell National Analyst and Reporter
A weekly guest on ESPNews and a regular on the ADT Coaches Spotlight Show on ESPNews and ESPN2, Farrell is regarded as one of the nation's foremost recruiting analysts. Born and raised in Vernon, Conn., he joined the Rivals.com team in 1998, covering Big East and Notre Dame recruiting. Farrell currently blankets the East Coast with a special focus on the ACC and Big East for Rivals.com, while additionally maintaining national responsibilities. He can also be heard on numerous radio shows, and his writing has been published in various newspapers and magazines.
Brian Gates Big 12 Analyst and Reporter
Gates has been with Rivals.com for three years, but his coverage of recruiting goes back to 1995 when he began covering the Kansas State recruiting beat in a hobby that soon turned into a vocation. Gates, a graduate of Kansas State, began performing free-lance duties for Rivals.com in 1998. He lives in Beloit, Kan., and can be heard on radio shows throughout Big 12 territory. Gates also writes for several college sports publications.
Jon Kirby Big 12 Analyst and Reporter
Kirby grew up in the Kansas City area and has lived there all his life. Kirby started covering recruiting with Rick Kimbrel, now the Rivals.com West Coast analyst, when Kimbrel was at PrepStar, and he eventually joined the Rivals.com network, focusing on the states of Kansas and Missouri. He has moved on to assist with Rivals.com's coverage of the Big 12. Kirby's work has been featured in numerous newspapers and he appears on radio shows throughout the Heartland.
Bill Kurelic Midwest Analyst and Reporter
One of the most recognized names in recruiting circles is Bill Kurelic, a 20-year veteran of the business. He has been featured on television and radio shows across the country and is used as a resource by media, who consider his work the best available in the Midwest. Kurelic was a high school teacher and coached football, basketball and baseball in Ohio and Texas for more than a dozen years before launching his current career. He publishes two newsletters: the Midwest Football Recruiting News, covering the top prospects in the Midwest, and the Ohio Football Recruiting News, covering Ohio State football recruiting. He currently resides in central Ohio.
Tim O'Halloran Midwest Analyst and Reporter
The name Tim O'Halloran at first might not seem familiar to many fans, yet O'Halloran's moniker EDGYTIM has quickly become synonymous with all that is Illinois Prep Football. O'Halloran, who has been publishing his critically acclaimed website www.edgytim.com for nearly a decade, remains one of the most sought after experts on Illinois Prep Football Recruiting. He appears weekly during the football season on WBBM-TV's Preps Xtra as a Chicagoland Recruiting Expert and also is a regular guest on several other Chicago-area prep television shows. O'Halloran, who is based in Joliet, Ill., can also be heard during the season on radio stations in Illinois and is a co-host of a regional weekly football show. O'Halloran's expertise and opinions have also appeared in every major daily newspaper in Illinois during the past few seasons.
Greg Biggins West Analyst and Reporter
Biggins has been a part of Student Sports for nearly 10 years and was a member of the original Rivals.com team along with Bobby Burton, Jeremy Crabtee and Bill Kurelic. He handles player personnel for the Nike Football Training camps, is on the selection committee for the EA SPORTS Elite 11 Quarterback camp and also picks the players for the CaliFlorida Bowl game. He appears on numerous radio shows nationwide and is the featured recruiting analyst for Fox Sports West. Biggins formerly ran the popular West Coast football site PacWestFootball.com and now handles West Coast, as well as national recruiting, for the Rivals.com network.
Rick Kimbrel West Analyst and Reporter
Currently residing in the Los Angeles area, Kimbrel has been considered one of the nation's elite recruiting analysts since. The veteran analyst and reporter was key in first making Blue Chip Illustrated and PrepStar Magazine recruiting publication standards. A featured guest on several TV shows, including CNN and Fox Sports West, Kimbrel has also been a highly sought after guest on radio broadcasts from coast-to-coast. He has been published by The Sporting News, Athlon's, Lindy's, Football News, CBS Sportsline, ESPN.com and many more. He has also been a consultant for Parade Magazine and Street and Smith's All-America teams.
Brian Stumpf West Analyst and Reporter
Stumpf has been with Student Sports since February of 2000. He manages national player personnel for the Nike Football Training Camps, as well as the EA SPORTS Elite 11 Quarterback Camp. He graduated from Cal-Berkeley in 1999 and played wide receiver for the Bears.
