Thomas is NU's first 2014 commit

While Northwestern is putting the finishing touches on its Class of 2013, it got a start on the Class of 2014 as safety Jordan Thomas of Klein (Texas) Collins committed to the Wildcats on Saturday.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pounder is on an unofficial visit to Northwestern this weekend. He attended the Wildcats' bowl practice this morning and committed to head coach Pat Fitzgerald afterward.

Thomas, who also had an early offer from Utah, is the first member of the Wildcats' Class of 2014.
