Offense-Defense AA Bowl Chat: Jermaine Love

[rl]Four-star linebacker Jermaine Love stopped by for a chat with Rivals.com users in the recruiting message board Tuesday afternoon live from the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The following is a transcript of the chat:

Jermaine what do you feel you need to improve on to get ready to play next year? What are your strengths?

Love: I think I need to improve on dropping back faster. My strength is my speed and my awareness of the play on the field.

Who would you say you model your game after?

Love: I'd say I play like Derrick Brooks. He gets to the ball with a passion just like I do.

Where/when college commit announcement? Are you and Hubert Anyiam going to same school?

Love: I don't know on the announcement. Right now I'm not sure if Hubert and I will play together. That's a possibility. If we don't, that's okay too. He has to do what's best for him.

What is the key factor in you picking a college to go to. Is it playing time, playing style, or just how you get along with the team.

Love: Playing time and if I feel comfortable there. Those are even factors. I'm looking for both in a school.

Is starting as a true freshman important to you, and is Texas Tech a viable option for you and Anyiam any longer?

Love: They're still in the picture because we both fit their systems. For Hubert, they throw the ball a lot and for me, they don't have a lot of linebackers. We could both come in and start.

How many heads are you going to crack come game time?

Love: I'll crack how many it takes to win.

Do you feel you would be a better suited to play outside linebacker or middle linebacker in college?? (I know you also have the ability to play a rover safety role as well)

Love: I'd rather play outside. I like outside a lot middle linebacker. I don't hate it, but I'd rather play the outside. That way I can slide out and cover fast people using my speed.
