Offense-Defense AA Bowl Chat: Brandon Hicks

Four-star linebacker Brandon Hicks stopped by for a chat in the recruiting message board Monday afternoon live from the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The following is a transcript of the chat:

Brandon, Congrats on being selected for this game and also being in the top 100 in the nation. How good is your relationship with Clint Hurtt your primary recruiter and also who do you model your game after? Good luck in the game.

Hicks: My relationship with Coach Hurtt is fine. We talk all the time. I don't really model my game after anybody. I just go out there and play.

Congratulations Brandon on being an All-American. My question is this, with Florida as your leader right now do you see your self waiting for Signing Day to announce a decision or do you think you will be ready in the near future? Thanks and of course good luck!

Hicks: I will wait until Signing Day.

Brandon again congrats to all the success you have came across this year. What do you feel is your biggest strength you bring to the field, and what is another area you need to improve more upon? Also, in terms of school selection how hectic has the process been?

Hicks: Strength is covering. Weakness is inside runs and I want to get to the ball faster. The process really hasn't been hectic.

Congratulations on a great senior season and being selected to play in this All-American Game. My question is how much does Randy Shannon being named Head Coach at the University of Miami impact your feeling towards their program? Thanks and good luck with the game.

Hicks: It doesn't make a big difference because they are still going to have the same type of team instead of a new coaching staff coming through.

What factors will be most important in your decision? (proximity to family, relationship with players/coaches, etc.) Thanks.

Hicks: I really want to play early. The fact that my family's close really doesn't matter because I know they are going to come see me play and support me. It's if I get along with the coaches and players.
