Army West notebook: Griffen a scary match-up
SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Avondale (Ariz.) Agua Fria defensive end Everson Griffen plans to make a statement in Saturday's U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
Griffen is one of eight USC commitments in this year's game. Seven of the eight future Trojans comprise the West 43-man roster and Griffen is arguably the best of the bunch.
All week, Griffen has been a tough blocking assignment for the West offensive linemen. In Saturday's U.S. Army Bowl, the match-up of Griffen against Piscataway (N.J.) offensive lineman Anthony Davis could be the best one in the entire game. Griffen said Davis and the rest of his East teammates better bring their best stuff, because he plans to get after it.
