[rl]Four-star running back Enrique Davis stopped by for a chat with Rivals.com users in the recruiting message board Tuesday afternoon live from the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The following is a transcript of the chat:
Enrique, to start off, your a terrific running back. One of the best in state. But how solid is your committment to the Auburn Tigers? Do you plan on going on any official visits anywhere else before National Signing Day?
Davis: I'm committed to Auburn 100 percent. I'm not going anywhere else other than Auburn. That's a school I can see myself going the next four or five years.
Enrique- Congrats on being selected to play in the AA game, Auburn fans can't wait to see you on the field. Question- What pro/college back would you compare your style of running to?
Davis: I compare myself to my own self. I don't try to be any other back. I think everybody is their own person. I don't try to compare myself to anybody. I have to be myself and do what I can. I just pride myself on being the best type of player I can.
What is your current weight, and what are you hoping to weigh when you report to Auburn in the summer?
I have heard that you and Michael McNeil have become good friends, is this accurate?...have you been able to get much of a read on where McNeil or Brandon Paul is leaning?
Davis: I'm at I think I'm about 215, might even be bigger than that. Whatever coach wants me to play. I just want to keep the speed.
Me, and Michael are good friends. Brandon Paul and I are also hanging out too. (Smiles) No comment. Auburn in the mix with both of them.
Enrique, when Alabama lands a new coach, how hard will you look at The University of Alabama again?
Davis: I respect Alabama as a football program. I just don't see myself being there. I see myself being an Auburn Tiger.
What would you say that you're the best at on the football field, and what part of your game do you need to improve?
Davis: Yeah, I want to improve on a couple of things. But I don't want to say what. No comment.
In your own words describe Enrique Davis as a football player?
Davis: I'm a team player. I'm good at playing football. That's basically it. I just like when I'm on the field. I don't think about what I'm going to do, I just do it. If you go out there thinking this guy is there and you think you have to put this or that move on them, then that's not going to work. You just have to go with the flow.
